Why do we fail to stick to our programs?

Why do we fail to stick to our programs? Why is it so hard to maintain motivation with diet and exercise?

Most of us like immediate results. Most rewards, like a downward shift on the scale, takes weeks. So stop weighing yourself every morning and night! Stay off the scale for at least a month. Staying power without our 'reward' means building tenacity.

Ditch the 'quick fix' mentality and go for the long haul. Don't expect results for a month. Hide the scale and maintain your program without looking for results. Weight loss that is slow, stays off. When you get bored or hit a plateau, it's time to dig deeper. If you feel you are beginning to slip and priorities are sneaking back up, re-assess your schedule and rewrite your goals.
