Letting Go of Attachments

ViewLibrary

I have collected many, many books during my personal growth journey. Each one offered some important insight of the moment. I often felt a sense of lightness after reading and connecting to that author's message and who I might become.  Some were even signed to me creating an even deeper sense of connection. After years of "holding on" to those books and stories and carting them from one place to another, even across the country from NY to CA. They were getting to be a burden. No more the source of lightness and a guide to a new and higher place as they once were. I had moved on!

Recently I tried to gather the courage to let go of all those books but found it a struggle. They had become me and I had become them. The stories, insights, dreams some filled some still being sought. I was recently gifted with the information about a  amazing group/place to donate my books/friends to.It needed to be just the right home for me to let go of them. It is an amazing young women's holistic multi level healing program in San Diego http://www.shaktirising.org

My yoga practice always provides me with an abundance of the letting go opportunities as well. My left shoulder has been cranky lately so a once very active practice has been softened and each day I step onto the mat asking for grace to let go of my attachments to my old stories.

Namaste,
Garry
